AMT Star Destroyer (finally!) finished.

Hi all,

A long time ago (in a galaxy far, far away [:)]), I posted a few photos of an AMT Star Destroyer kit that I was working on and trying to figure out how to use washes on the raised detail.

That thread is here:

I finally finished the model today! There’s a bit of a stroy behind this one. My youngest brother, Nate, passed away a bit over 10 years ago. We were very close. When helping my parents and my other brother go through Nate’s belongings, I found this AMT Star Destroyer kit. After some time, I started building it in his honor.

The kit was complete, except for the base, so I had to make a new one. I also purchased an in-scale 3D printed Rebel Corevetteto be part of this display.

Here’s the completed Star Destroyer over Tatooine:

Nicely done. My younger brother bought me this kit for Christmas way back in the 1980s.

I still have bits and pieces of it.

You’ve done your brother proud. He bought this kit to be built.

Oh wow! That’s some nice work!!!

And as Rob said great tribute to your brother and congrads on getting her built!

Great trifecta of planet, blockade runner, and Star Destroyer. Makes for a compact yet dynamic scene. It’s a beautiful remembrance. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you, all, for the kind words!
