Yes, those Italeri kits look nice, but they are a good chunk of change. Have you looked at Moebius? They have two big rigs to offer for around $70 each.
A little bit of a change already. I managed to find some better pictures of the air brake system and changed the plumbing. I scratch built the 3 air valves, one for each axle for the main brakes, and one for the rear axle only for the parking brake.
The valves are mounted on each differential near the top.
I have a couple more air reservoirs to add to the system yet, will look like this when added.
Looking good Frozin. Where do you get your images? Google is not to helpful for me, probably because i do not know the terminology used for trucks. I am usually searching along the line of “big rig chassis” or “18 wheeler engine”.
Hey @NucMedTech, I’ve found if you google the truck, engine, suspension type (kenworth w925 or Cummins NTA-375 or torsion bar susp), then it works a bit better. Or even a specific piece of the truck ( like peterbilt fuel tank).
From there, I usually get into auction sites. These tend to be very good for reference pictures as they are documenting almost the whole truck, and sometimes the trucks are just for parts or various stages of disassembly.
