AMT/Ertl's Lockheed S-3A Viking Color?

I am starting on this build tonight after washing it. Since the instructions are of no help would anyone have the FS colors for the:

Cockpit

Ejection Seats

Wells

Conopy Interior Color

Once you install that smoke tint canopy…you won’t see a thing inside…so why worry?

Hi Hawk - I agree with your thought but I want to have some peace of mind that I least do a basic job of representation on the office.

That canopy is really dark. But if you look, REAL, REAL close, you can see inside…a little! I just used the inst. decals on mine. I could have sworn I’ve seen a vac-canopy for it though…somewhere???

Squadron sells a clear vacuform S-3 canopy. To be completely accurate, you would need to tint the overhead sections and then do a light gold tint for the windscreens.

I believe the seats are Dark Gull Gray. For some reason they aren’t black like the fast-movers.

Yea fermis that’s why I wanted to do some painting on the office. I have it painted the Dark Gull Grey (thanks Mark) and I put on a coat of Gloss this morning for the decals which I hope to place tomorrow.

I saw the Vacuform canopy on Squadron. The “bird” I am building, using “CAMs” decals is VS-31, USS Independence year 1977.

The question I have is would the light gold tint have been in use in 1977?

I stand corrected. I forgot that the ESCAPAC seats in the S-3’s were gray rather than black. Sorry.
