I’ve always had a love for International Trucks, I guess it’s because my father worked for International Harvester for 40 years. There was always Ertl models under the tree at Christmas.
Anyways…here’s my recent attempt at building this kit.

Wow really nice job! Those big rigs are quite the project. Once unsolicited tip - if you hit the chrome parts with tamiya clear smoke it knocks down the shine a bit for a scale effect.

Wow, really nice build. I like the cargo he is hauling too, is that an SVT? A lot of people do not like these old ERTL/AMT kits and they can be very challenging, but; taking your time and sometimes a little modifications and you can have a really nice model. I am on my second big rig kit, a tow truck and it is slowly getting there.

Thanks! It went together with no problems. The cargo is an 87 Mustang GT with a Saleen wing, I had one of those but totaled it

Nice work with both the truck and trailer. I agree with @keavdog about the wheels. The chrome in the kits always seems a bit unrealistic for truck wheels, I struggle with that part myself.
I’ve got a question about the fuel tanks. What technique did you use for the tank straps? They look very good, and as it’s been ages since I’ve built this kit, it seems like you’ve done something different with them.

Hi Frozin,
To simulate the straps I used two layers of vinyl (black then silver) cut to the right width. To cut the widths needed I stacked two #11 blades together spacing them apart with cardstock etc.

That is well outside of my wheelhouse when it comes to subject matter, but I recognize a beautiful model when I see one. The finish looks immaculate.
