Amodel Yak-28r 1/72

actually on my workbench i have a gannet, a mig-31, a super etendard, an harrier gr3, a gogg (mech) all involved in various gb, and a ka-18, a mig-29ub… the most wrong thing is to start another kit. [^o)] i do this!

Watching tv yesterday evening, images of finished plane entered in my head and without doubt gone down on my hobby room and retourne whit my steel cutter , tamiya glue and the yak kit!

i chose the recon version of the yak-28 for the great clear nose and for the non metal camouflage (it’s too hard for me to do NMF with brushes [:S] ). Heres a picture of real plane

So opened the box and started this shoooort run kit!!

Speed built and great details are two thing that don’t match with this kit!

box are a little exagerated

fortunately no pieces was out sprues (because are almost merged on sprues [:(] ), only an hal part of nose out, but clear parts are sealed in own bag.

no reference pins are provided by the kit but as you cas see the fitting are perfect [:P]

… not really

!(http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/pp139/bsyamato/modellismo/yak-28r 72 amodel/100_2960.jpg)

one of engines pieces… only some flash to remove… … …

!(http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/pp139/bsyamato/modellismo/yak-28r 72 amodel/100_3091.jpg)

the occasional benchwork with all tools

!(http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/pp139/bsyamato/modellismo/yak-28r 72 amodel/100_3093.jpg)

at the end i only cleared mai parts from lots of flashes and glued some engines pieces and fuselage bulkheads … [:D] even better that watch stupid tv!

I’ll give priority to gb works but in little time i’ll continue this beautyfull subject, and i predict to sustain again the evergreen sheets industry (lion roar for brass beams …) to scratch all needed piece to do a good work with this raw kit!

well I’m gonna watch this one as I’m putting together their yak 21 and I have found you can’t rush it lots of test fitting and trimming.

Good luck with that kit Pisan! It looks like a nightmare with all the flash and thick looking parts. Last time I saw sprues like that it had “MpM” on the box…LOL!

BUT…if anyone culd make it look good, it`s you!

mete, scratch, fill , repeat (slipknot quote)

i’m building for same brand the kamov ka-18 , and till now easier to build than the yak (and better plastic), but even there lots of pieces need to be replaced!

Instead the plastic of both are easy glued with tamiya glue ,better than other fmous kit brands [Y]

but you’re finished the yak-21?

thanx to trust me [:D[ (i hope it’s a correct form [:|] )

this kit will be a great challenge for me [:D]

searching for references about real plane i founded lots of wips on various forum , and noticed that some fails , some abandoned and all finished same kits was not at good looking (few wheatering ,no panel lining, but this kit HAVE recessed good panels [^o)] ). Not stand why after all work needed no good finish [*-)]

The main problems on this kit (except all…) are the long fuselage withouth pins, and surely engines will do lots of problems… fortunately i have a good supply for scratching all i need (and tools).

I’ll do my best or i’ll die [8o|]

[sn0ps] i forgot the loved grief!!

Well…that certainly puts a new spin on an old hobby…[:XX] [angl]

…mh…! exagerated a little … at least going on exile in north korea [8o|] (if fail)

Heh…now that`s a fate WORSE than death !

[^o)] someone talk to me that is a good place for pic-nic

position of wings are not at good eight need some adjust, frontal angle seems good [Y]

General shapes of this plane increase in me the wish to see it complete [proplr]
