I ordered a set of Micron markers to use for making panel lines in scale models, both plastic and diecast. I ordered a set of six Micron pens from Amazon. This is a photo of the POS they sent to me. The cardboard is crumbling, the ink on the cardboard has bled through, the plastic is separating, and of course, the missing cardboard pieces. This is not the first time I’ve had similar issues with Amazon.

I haven’t tried them yet. But looking at the cardboard, and it looks bad in person, I’m sure it’s old stock. I’m 21 years Army and a bit OCD. I don’t want a set of pens that could prematurely dry out. Amazon is sending a new set. Thank you for replying!

Those ink pens can also be found at Michael’s art & craft store, and also in Hobby Lobby stores.

Our Hobby Lobby is closer, and I had purchased some from there before. The only reason I ordered this set is that I’m recovering from hip replacement and I can’t drive and moving around slowly.

Was it an Amazon product or an Amazon non corporate seller? If it’s Amazon they have a guarantee and you can get a replacement for a defective product.
The beauty of buying through Amazon is easy returns. Send it back, leave negative feedback and buy it from a different seller.

It was a corporate seller, but Amazon is giving me a refund, which was immediate, and sending a new one. Thank you for replying.

I guess experiences differ,never had problems with them though Carlos,exchanges and refunds have always worked for me.
I’ve only bought a few hobby items off Amazon over the years so far. But let’s just say that they’re batting well under 1000 in my experience. Deliveries no faster than any of the regular online shops, and none of the reputed bargains for pricing.

I got the Tamiya Mogami sea plane cruiser from Japan for $117.00 shipping included,then I applied for a Amazon credit card,and got a $100 credit to use!!!

I have a set of staedler drafting ink pens and a single rotering.
The ink dried in the .010 tip staedler after 20 years. These are used to draw in the scribed panel lines to highlight removable & movable panels and flight control surfaces.

Looks good. I’ve never heard of this brand, but 20 years is impressive! Gotta’ check them out!
I bought them for a drafting class way WAY back and discovered that they worked great on the recessed lines on control surfaces.
I worked on F-4’s and F-105’s Kc-135A’s, B-52G and B-52H’s and never seen all the individual panel lines that somehow model builders see and highlight.
I did actually see grit & grime, spray can touched up panels, faded paint versus new, old nasty sticky grey metallic (picked up from air passing over it) hydraulic fluid leaks from wheel wells & speed brakes, and oil & JP-4 leaks every so often covering the aircraft underside of the engine panels.
Yup. Sometimes they don’t, and then you’re OOL.
