Heres a link to another forum where someone’s posted a site with things found in or around Russia, http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=13017 there’s some very nice finds like a FW 190 still in its camouflage and markings the original site links there but all I can find on the original site are old coins,
There’s been plenty of great stuff coming out of Russia for a while. Two which caught my eye were a Hampden, and an FW 189, both of which are now being restored. There are stacks more however.
There have also been loads of remarkable finds in Papua New Guinea. Bristol Beauforts, P40’s, and recently three P47’s were dug up from where they were buried, and word is they will all be restored, probably as fliers.
I wonder what else is out there? After all you’d think you might notice large chunks of military hardware lying around. but then this is Russia we are talking about!!!
That’s where the Canada Aviation Museum’s Me-109F came from. A private investor brought it out of Russia to the U.K. and restored it. The museum purchased it from him a few years back.
Wow I’am amzed because I’m from russia. Many of my relatives fought in WWII so this is very important to me. Of cource I really wish that I would find at least a luger or a german helmet in my back yard. I think I saw these pictures somewhere and I think that many of these pictures were taken in 1970’s and 80’s because since the goverment had changed in Russia no one cares anymore about the heroes of the soviet union and the things that come from that great war. Thanks for the limk greatly appriciate it![:)]
