Try Microscale’s Micro Metal Foil Adhesive. I have some but haven’t tried it yet. Should be good for putting foil on. www.spruebrothers.com has 13 as I write this.
Hope it helps!
Microscale’s Micro Metal Foil Adhesive is a water base /water clean up product.in time the foil will lift if stored in an environment which has moisture…90% of sealers can’t prevent this. Some modelers have good luck with it.Living in Arizona will be best for that.
Self Adhesive foil would work .
Future floor wax will work and hold better than other adhesives .
microscale. i’ve used it and it works, the first tim i put it on the foil as suggested, but i found it was hard to get a thin and even coating. you also have to coat a larger piece than you need, which means you inevitably get adhesive on the foil already on the model - not a real prob as it cleans off lovely with iso alcohol, BUT when you peel the excess off it can lift the foil already on the model.
second time i put the glue on the model and found it much easier to use and control. you can get the glue thinner, only where you want it and you can get the almost unavoidable brushmarks to a bare minimum and even use them to get a panel variation by varying their direction. and if is not good enough you can just wipe it off and have another go. no waste.
I also advise geting a sheet of Bare Metal Foil. although i prefer the finish of normal foil, it is a bit more resilient to tearing for those really awkward bits.
I second Bare Metal Foil, it’s much easier to use.
“Looks like Metal Because It Is Metal”™ BUT Bare Metal Foil costs around $14/sq ft. A roll of “Super Aluminum Foil” from Dollar Tree, et al., a bottle of Micro Metal Foil Adhesive, plus a soft brush comes to under $1/sq ft.
Thinned white glue will work, too.
I waved bye bye to foiling after using Alclad. http://www.nissanclub.com/forums/images/smilies/wave.gif.pagespeed.ce.jKkg1mKHtu.gif
BMF is expensive, thats why i only used it on difficult areas. Foiling can be a right pain and i too use mainly alclads, but its fun to do a bit of foiling now and again
Every product is actually good. Its only how you present it, and how many awards you collect.
