Yes those checkerboard decals were hard to put on, theres 5 of them. A big one that goes on top, two thin ones that goes on each side right under the engian outakes, one on the bottom, the last one on the bottom thats pointing to the back. I mest up on the right side were there no decal, so I’ll have to order a new sheet. And the XB-70 in real life is huge, theres on up north of me in the Air Force Museam. Its a little bigger than the B-1B.
My Dad built a model of the XB-70 when I was a kid (about 8 or 9 ). He painted it metallic blue instead of white like the real thing. I remember being annoyed that he painted it the wrong color. Funny the things you remember from your childhood.
It’s the Academy “Sky Giants” series, no? I built that one, it looks to be the same. It was an OK kit, but it had zero detailing. Maybe 20 overall parts to the whole thing.
Its from Lindberg, I bought it in a Tamiya hobby shop. It was around 11 dollors, there are a small number parts so its easy to put together. The only con’s are, you have do a little sanding on the canopy to get a good fit, theres no engian intakes to, you can look throw it and see the back. And the stand didn’t fit right with the hole in the bottom. But all in all, at the end its a great model. Oh the name of “Delta Wing B-70”.
