I recieved an Email from Fox allowing me to link to the AvP movie website and access an exclusive movie clip shedding some light on the creature effects in the upcoming movie.
For all those who want to see it, email me and I’ll forward you the email. I can’t guarantee it works for you, but its worth a shot…
Man, I can’t WAIT for this movie. I’m a huge fan of predator, so this will be amazing to watch. The preview I saw didn’t have that much. Michael, I sent e-mail, hopefully that link will work.
Alien vs Predator? Get a life, guys - it’s no contest. If Ellen Ripley (one lone, aggro human female) can lash together a rifle, a grenade launcher and a flame-thrower and beat the pants off the Aliens, then I’m fairly sure they’ll be easy meat for a warrior race like the Predators.
If people (and I mean you lot) would stop paying money to see rubbish movies, then maybe, just maybe, Hollywood would get the message and we’d see some DECENT SF on the big screen. And don’t even talk to me about Mr Lucas and his pathetic efforts of late.
Perhaps you would care to enlighten us as to what you would consider to be “DECENT SF?”
You know, the kind worthy of being on the big screen?[;)][;)][:D]
Well, I’m not rob_g, but a good start would be something other than the teenaged-boy mentality of “like, what if Spiderman fought the Incredible Hulk?” [:p]
I’ve read a few of the graphic novels and there is a little more to it than that. In the books the earth has been infested with aliens and the few men alive have gone underground. The wealthy live in floating cities above the desolate surface. I don’t know if the movie will follow this plot line but it seems like to me that the Aliens as a whole are a parasite race thats gets more powerful with the more hosts available. A few humans and a few Predators against billions of Aliens, sounds like they have their work cut out for them. By the way if you are not aware of it the Alien vs. Predator francise is atleast 10 years old. I’m looking forward to it! It’s going to be good![;)]
Yeah!
But just so you don’t think I’m TOO low-brow, I did read the entire Dune series last year (well, all of Frank’s stuff, anyway).
That was more than enough education and mental stimulation for me!
Your not low brow at all J-Hulk. You just have your priorities set on normal. [:p] The last Dune book I read was God Emperor and I lost interest in the series after that. It seemed to be getting a bit wacky and self serving. [2c]
That nutty super-mentat Duncan Idaho theme throughout the books was way wacky!
I dug it, though.
My fave was “Children of Dune” (you know, it had the most low-brow superhero butt kicking action! Leto in the super-sandtrout suit!). I heard the Sci-Fi Channel made a movie of that, but it hasn’t made it across the pond yet. I did see their “Dune,” and was quite impressed.
