I used a 50/50 mix of Alclad Aluminum and Polished Aluminum since most of the photos I’ve seen of Korean War B-29s they looked pretty shiny to me. Might have been better to have went with plain aluminum though.
Thanks, Gamera. Looking at that in 1/72nd scale makes me realize just how big this model is! Nice job on the finish and I hope I can do as well on mine. Started the build on the interior cabin, most of which won’t be seen. which gives me a good place to practice my new skills!
If you’re reading this MountnRide, beautiful model, dunno how I missed her. But how on earth do you display and transport a 1/48th kit!?! The 1/72nd B-29 is a friggin’ handful!!!
May I also suggest considering FIFI’s colors. While not NMF when seen up close and taxing for takeoff it has a certain coolness factor. A weathered look more associated with 17s and others.
I would advise against using FiFi as a reference… She’s painted, not bare metal and some other things have changed over time to make something that old remain flyable
