So, the sun has been shining for the last couple of days and I’ve taken advantage of the sunshine to get some painting done. This morning I endeavored to paint my Mexican Thunderbolt of the Aztec Eagles. Escuadrón 201, flew out of the Philippines during WWII. Well, I haven’t used Alclad metallic paint for quite some time, opting instead for AK metallic paints with pretty good results. I had a full bottle of Alclad Aluminum, until I knocked the open bottle over so now I have less than half a bottle, so I thought I should shoot the Alclad. Just awful. The painted surface was rough as sandpaper over Mr Surfacer 1500 black primer. I had to wet sand the entire airplane to get a smooth surface, but now I need to repaint the airplane aluminum. Should I continue with the Alclad Aluminum or go for the AK Aluminum over the wet sanded Alclad?
Thoughts?
