Well, after many years and two days before I ship out, I finally finished my Akira and Centaur. All done with the help of Federationmodels.com, Starcraft and of course JT Graphics. Just thought I would share them, hope nobody minds. Next on the list are a Nebula, Steamrunner and Saber. Happy Modeling. As always, advice and creative criticism is always welcome.
(One thing that always bothered me was the lack of life boats on the older ships, when they are so visible on the newer ones. I fixed that problem)

Midnight, They are both the resin kits offered from Starcraft. I was thinking about doing a scratch Centaur, but then it would be a larger scale than 1/1400 and I wanted to start a 1/1400 fleet.
He goes into some DEEP detail on this one. You might like it spagetti.
But the Akira is a tough ship. I always loved seeing it in DS9 and VOY (the one time) and it always kicked ass. I just wish they showed more closeups of it, and I would have killed for better shots of the Norway, Steamrunner and Saber.

Sorry it took so long to respond. Thanks for the nice comments! Nope, never really even attempted any scratching. Scares me to much! I have some good ideas for ships I’d like to see, but I don’t seem to be real good and putty and sandpapering anything! HAHA, so I think for the time being I’ll just stick to the kits! Sadly, becuase the Army owns me for the next 6-9 months for training, I will be doing no modeling… this doesn’t mean I won’t buy some new kits though. [:P]

You obviously have a lot of skill so I woudn’t let a little fear
of the unknown keep you from enjoying scratchbuilding.
Star Trek modeling and kitbashing/scratchbuilding seem
to go hand in hand. Maybe you can jump onboard when we
start our next group scratchbuild.[:)] Once again those turned
