I’ve just received my weekly email update from hannants models and they have announced that the Airfix TSR2 will be released in September 05. Numbers will be strictly limited. RRP £16.99 ($32).
I shall be getting the advanced order in later…but how many will I need???
Yeah, I’ll be putting in my order pretty soon too.
I actually considered the Dynavector 1/48th Vacform, but looking at the vital statistics of the 72nd scale bird, I’m glad I didn’t get it, as it wouldn’t have fitted in any of my rooms!
Can’t wait, although why they’ve publicised it as a “limited run” is beyond me - it just seems like they’re trying to encourage as many people to pre-order as possible, and maybe get people to “panic buy”, boosting their sales.
I certainly won’t be ordering from hannants.
My last order took 10 weeks from ordering to delivery.
It arrived 8 weeks after they took the money from my card. Modelsforsale.com - they are in the next county to hannants- 6 days from dispatch to delivery.
Hannants needs to improve its service or it will suffer.
The thing that got me with hannants is their “can’t order paint without a kit” rule. They site postage regulations as the reason, but if you can’t send paint on its own you cant send paint full stop!
However, they do have possibly the largest range of kits in the UK.
I dont have a problem with the shop.
I usually visit once a year when I hit Duxford and Hendon.
The attitude of the staff (Lowestoft) when you call is pretty bad.
4 weeks is not normal for an order, let alone 8.
Hobbyeasy can take as little as 6 days - and not 6 working days either.
Thats from Hong Kong to Ireland.
I sent them an email correcting a credit card error, they had replied within 10 minutes.
Hannants take 4 days to reply to an email.
These guys seem to be stuck in the 70’s and have an Irish attitude to customer service - non existant!.
I will take my custom elsewhere.
if enough customerd desert them they will have to change the way they do business or go under.
My LHS owners attitude to losing his customers was to put up the price of all his kits.
€50 for a Tamiya A1 skyraider!
I went to my new ‘local’ shop in Honkers and got the same A1, an F4D and a mohawk for €68 incl postage.
I reckon I would be looking at €160 for the same here , and not far off that at hannants and I would still have to wait 8 WEEKS for the shipment.
Its a dog eat dog world now.
I would pay a little extra for a decent range of kits in my LHS rather than support the Chinese economy, but I draw the line at ignorance and extortion, everyone else rips me off in this mickey mouse country , so I fight back when I can.
not connected to the TSR.2 but im glad im not the only one getting the major run around from Hannants.
ordered some 1/48 aidoc luftwaffe decals from them and recieved a letter saying my order was out of stock and would follow shortly… that was about 3 months ago!!!
i sent an email suggesting that they keep their website up to date ao i could actually order from someone else if i knew i didnt stand a chance of the parts turning up and i just got an arsey reply! i re-ordered this week so it’ll be interesting to see what happens!!
