Airfix SM.79 Sparviero

Recently I’ve buyed one of this kit… I wanted to try it cos’ I have the Italeri kit already… and this Airfix kit is an SM.-II, and the italeri is an SM.79-I, well, the Airfiz kit is not so good as the Italeri kit, but still is very nice… it requires some minor scracthbuilding, but I like to do that… well, the question is… I know that the SM.79 has a lot of wires: in the antenna, wings and stabilizers… I never had made this wires before, but I know that can be made from stretched sprues… here’s the problem… I want to know how to attach this “wires” to the fuselage, wings, etc… have to made holes in them?..

I don’t envy you at all having to build an Airfix kit. Rigging can be accomplished by many techniques. One is prethreading prior to assembly. Drill holes and anchor your line inside the fuse, wings, etc before you close the halves. Just make sure you leave plenty of length so after assembly you can trim and attach to length. Once assembled, you can carefully apply heat to the line to tighten.

Good luck on yours.
