Does anyone know if the 1/48 scale set of Spitfires (Mks. I, IX and 22) was actually released before Airfix closed it’s doors? How about the 1/72 set?
Sorry- bumping. Just hoping someone may have some info on this set.

The 1/72 set was released some months ago (February?), and is widely available in LHSs in the UK. Questionable value at £19.99/ approx USD 36.60. If you want a 1/72 Supermarine S6B, the Eastern Express re-boxing of the FROG kit can be found, without too much difficulty, for £4.99.
The 1/48 70th Annivesary set, however, has yet to see the light of day and, now, may well never do.

I have the 1/48 set, and saw some in my LHS at the weekend. It has the MK1 as well as 2 others.

Hannants still list the 1/48 set under ‘future releases’. Antics don’t list it as available, nor do ModelsforSale, and none are available on eBay. Wonderland Models in Edinburgh, who often list a kit as being in stock some months before they actually do, do not claim to have it, or list it under future releases, while the 1/72 Nimrod and 1/48 Canberras are listed there*.* . It’s unusual for LHSs to get supplies of an Airfix kit before the major mail order/ internet suppliers.

Well I am pretty sure thats what I have in my loft, but when I went in today the LHS guy said they had “sold out”.
