Hi Everyone,
I’m normally on the aircraft forums but needed to to do something different for my own sanity and was at my local HS and saw this cheap and attractive looking Sherman. It is OOB except for the barrels which I replaced with tubing, It got a wash with oils, some of the decals were terrible, but you know what, I totally enjoyed it. Please all comments welcome.

Good effort in this micro-dot scale, Zapme
especially with those dreadfull tracks,
better than my first efforts with a kit that’s older than I am…[:-^]

The Airfix kit was one of their first kits released, I had endless fun with my uncles’ tanks & the LCT3 set, D-day anyone? [4:-)]
Couple of points,
The top row of rocket launcher tubes should lie flat on the rail, it’s canted up to port.
These tubes were hollow, perhaps you could consider ‘hinting’ with dark paint?
The elevation rod has a circle on the end of the ‘Y’, this is a clamp that should be round the barrel.
The track stands proud of the return rollers, but not bad considering the awfull tracks.

Main thing is you had a blast, so build some more… there is no going back from the dark side…
Looking real good! much better than mine which was built some 30 years ago.
Another thing to note is that the arms that held the rocket assembly were vertical. Yours seem to lean back a few degrees.

It looks like another trip to the LHS for some more 1/72-76 scale armour for me.
Dear Jon_a_its, I did’nt really research this model but I think That the next few, I will look at getting more accuracy. Thanks for you honesty, I recon we don’t get enough good critism[:D] as how are we meant to improve our skills without it.

That’s a nice Calliope you have there, zapme![tup] Rarely see them built up, let alone 1/76, thus its a keeper. The only thing I could suggest is do some more weathering with washes and pastels. Since you may have gone a bit light in the weathering department, however other then that your build is lookin’ quite fine.[;)]
