OK, having a little break from my usual 1/48 and Wingnut Mega-builds. Spotted this little beauty while my GF was buying some of her craft stuff. I haven’t made a 1/72 kit in a long time.
I shall be making a half-decent stab at this and posting as I go for those interested.

I’m wrapping up the Airfix Nimrod now. Beware, the decals in my kit are really bad. I’d check yours out before putting them on.

What finish is it going to be ?
I’ve had some luck spraying the old decals with a coat or two of Model Master clear. Testor’s laquer didn’t work for me. The problem with doing that though is you have to cut each idividual decal from the clear coat.

Made a start - prep on the cockpit. Maybe try and add some extra details. Got the HUD nailed i think. That instrument panel decal will need some trimming…
Trying to “busy up” the interior and add a few details.
belts added from some foil from my bottle of gin, grab handles (?) and bang-seat handle added from wire.
…and we are buttoned up and primed.
Very nice progress. Just for interest, I sprayed a coat of white enamel then did the dayglow as it doesn’t cover well. Then masked off the pannels and did a coat of silver, it covers in 2 light coats. Theuns
