Hi guys,

Here she is, sleek and slender, my Supermarine Spitfire Mk. Vb. It is my first kitbash, as i combined the Airfix Spitfire Vb with the PM-Models Spitfire Vb Floatplane. I decided to build the first version of the first protoype: no enlarged rudder, no Vokes filter, but with the tailfin added and a fourbladed prop with shortened blades.

Since there was too much wrong with the Spitfite bit in the PM-kit, I looked for replacement and compared the Vb’s of Revell, Italeri and Airfix and decided that the last one was the best. It turned out to be a joyful build.

From the PM-kit I borrowed floats and pylons, the tailfin, the propellor and spinner. The rest is all Airfix.

I have looked at all of your recent posts and I must say, I really like the variety of aircraft you have built. This one is my personal favorite. Great work and keep posting more!

Thank you! I specialize in WWII aircraft, but vary the themes.Last year I built mainly planes that were operational over the northern Atlantic, Norway adn the Barentzs Sea. Curently I’m working on a theme called Too little too late, building luftwaffe jets that were operational in 44-45. Apart from that i’m collecting kits of planes that flwe in Northern Africa.
