Just finished this, OOB. Beware this kit, they tell you 55gm of nose weight which is extremely hard to squeeze in. I went over this weight and it’s still a tail sitter. Not as good engineering as their Gannett, but it’s not too bad I guess. It’s alot of work.
Very impressive work! Your pre-shading is terrific especially on the underside. Makes me want to reread Stephen Ambrose’s “The Wild Blue.”
Hard to believe that is 1/72nd scale! Good job!
Gary
I like your paint work and weathering.
Excellent job all the way around. Very nicely done!
That’s awesome! Nice job.
Wow. You made Airfix’s Liberator into a real champion. Bravo.
Thanks guys for the kind words
Great work. Very nice B-24!
Well done, Grant. Thanks or the building hints.
Very nice, almost makes me think about breaking my life long 1/48th scale habit. How did you solve the tail sitting issue?
Good paint base/ prep and paint application in addition to all the fine details round this build out verrrry nicely Grant. Sucks about the fact that it’s a tail sitter after all of the weight that you fit into the nose, but it did come out a winner. Thank you for sharing this bud.
I haven’t yet, I used the boarding ladder to stop it tipping, I will try and get some lead under the nose turret or top turret
FWIW, Hasegawa ln its B-24 suggest 90 grams of weight on the nose. Makes me uneasy to have so much weight on a flimsy 1/72 nose gear.
