A friend told me he bought a 1/48 P&W R-1830 Late version by Aires a couple of years ago, and the catalogue number was #4032. When I went to the Aires website however, there was no sign of an R-1830, and that particular number was given as an R-2800. But then, so was #4003!! Can anyone help resolve this conundrum for me, as I need a few R-1830’s and my attempts to contact Aires have so far yielded no reply [:(]
Both Squadron and Great Models list Aires 4003 as a P&W R 2800, and 4032 as a P&W R 1830 Late. With both sites saying the same thing, its a good bet that its true. Here’s links to the two different engines.
