Aircraft modeler interested in 1/350 AC

I’m a 1/48th scale aircraft modeler that mostly does USMC/USN aircraft. I’m interested in aircraft carriers but don’t want to jump into something that will vex me for my first ship. Any suggestions where I should start? I’ve done some searching, but it is difficult to tell a good one from a bad one and they are expensive, so I don’t want my first one to be a bummer.

I’d be mostly interested in 1960s to present and if there is a great USMC carrier that would maybe be a good place for me to start.

Thanks

The Wasp and nearly identical Iwo Jima models are really nice kits; they’re sold under multiple company names including Gallery and Revell. There are 3D printed aircraft available from L’Arsenal and 3D-Wild that are very nice but super fragile; you’d need to peruse their websites for any particular plane. The ship models build up very nicely OOB and you can superdetail to your own liking and skills.

A google search for 1:350 scale aircraft brought up quite a few vendors.
