When pro modelers refer to their air pressure preferences are they referring to flow pressure (when the air brush is in use) or the pressure reading when the brush is not in use?
I would say the pressure when not in use, when you trigger, pressure automaticaly drops by a couple of PSI.

I generally note the pressure when the paint/air is flowing. So, in my case, when I stop painting, the pressure goes UP by a couple of PSI. Personal preference and habit.

in use pressure
Always refers to in use. If your sparying at 15psi, thats in use. Just set it with your brush empty and pull your tigger back and adjust until you get what you want to start with. Every time you shoot your pressure will be 15psi from that point on, until you decide to readjust of course.
