Airbrush Cleaning - Badger 155

Hi

I have a Badger 155 Anthem, I’m just getting used to using it.
It’s the first internal mix airbrush I have had and I’m wondering how far to go with cleaning it after use.
So far I’m using a clean jar & thinners and I spray it through until its clear. Then I wipe clean the bottom feed hole and the rest of the brush. I have only used it about six times or so, and have found it to be excelent, so I would like to keep it that way!

Should I strip it after each use? although this would seem a bit excessive.

Many thanks

Karl

I use lacquer thinner, followed by EZ Air airbrush cleaner myself.

I use a q-tip to clean out the feed hole… again with lacquer thinner.

I take mine apart every week or so to clean it more carefully, depending on how much I have used it. I have found the Anthem cleans out pretty well with just spraying.

One precaution… ONLY use lacquer thinner if you have a well ventilated work area.

I agree with naplak, use lacquer thinner and I use either toilet paper or facial tissue (toilet paper is cheaper) 1 roll will last for a number of clean ups… I have a paschhe vl and normally only take it down completely once every 2-3 months.
The paper can be twisted into a tight roll between the fingers to clean paint cup feedway and into the airbrush body too. Be very careful with the tip, you don’t want to enlarge or distort it. I found this out the hard way with my first airbrush.

As I think about it… I really only clean it about once a month! [:D]

But hey… I do have good intentions!

I would be real careful with tissue like that as you could easily leave a small piece inside the airbrush since it tears so easily. I use paper towels and airbrusher’s brushes to clean mine.

I have a Paasche single action and a Bager Double action air brush and I use a pipe cleaner to clean the paint cup tube and as for the spray tip go to the dentalproducts in the food store and look in the area of dental floss there you ewill find proxil brushes . Theylook like tiny x-mas trees but they work great!!
