Has anyone used the airbrush city mini compressor. If so, please tell me what it is like. Thanks.
I bought a set from them early this year, a mini compressor with regulator and a dual action airbrush. I like it (plz do note that this is my 1st compressor and airbrush).
the compressor is quiet, wife say she can’t notice it in living room when I airbrush in bathroom (closed door, and we live in apartment). airbrush works great also.
ming…which model compressor did you buy from them? And how was your service/satisfaction with them?
I’ve heard mostly good things about them…however I heard something that happened to a friend recently that prevented me from going through with my order. Thanks for any light you could shed on this…
Chris, I looked back at the airbrush city site, and I am quite positive that the one I bought is the 2202 kit, a no-name compressor with filter/regulator and a no-name airbrush. I can’t remember exactly how much I paid for them, but seems like the price is even better now.[:(!]
my personal experience with it is actually quite good. one thing I do like to point out is that it has only very scratchy instruction for airbrush. it won’t be a problem if you used one before. but when I tried to take it apart 1st time, it did cause some confusion.
Hi ming!!!
Chris was refering to a freind who had problems with airbrush city!!! well… I’m that freind!!!
The compressor turned out to be a Central Pnuematic, and the brush is a Paasche VL… I am EXTREMELY pleased with the product!!!
The compressor is quiet and the brush is excellent!!!
Now for the bad stuff…
-
It was shipped FedEx, and took almost 3 weeks to deliver,
-
they said they would fill and ship my order in 24 to 48 hours, it was 5 days before i got an e-mail that said they shipped it…
-
The kit i bought went on sale 2 days after i ordered it, when i found out i asked them if i can get the sale price and they said no…
-
the day after i ordered it, they started to offer free S&H, i asked if i can get that and they said no… S&H was $24 for me…
The price is right, the product is great, but the service was a bit lacking…
Take how you will, that is just my experience…
My question is: Will these compressors hold up over time?
If they do then go for it, but if they don’t then I see no reason to buy one for 20-30% cheaper than a quality brand that will last for years.
Mike
Well the compressors come with a 2 year warruntee…
Well I spotted my choice today…@Sears…just wasnt waiting in line for something I can get tomorrow just as easily and at the same price it was today.
I kind of remember my shopping experience with airbrush city was ok…
anyway, the products are quite good.
and you guys got good deal on compressor on after-turkey day shopping?
Well Sears didnt have the compressor on sale for what it was rumored to be…No ones fault I guess Corporate just voted to nix it…I didnt pick mine up on Friday as I didnt want to wait in the long lines for something I was getting at regular price. I bought mine on Sunday and have yet to use it for airbrushing yet…I still lack a water trap.
I opted to pay for the extended/free replacement warranty which pushed the original price up a bit but still kept it under $170 USD including local tax…Free Replacement/Repair for 3 or 4 years I forget exactly!!! I also dont have to “ship” mine off…for repair or warranty work like those from AirbrushCity do…I just drop mine off at the local Sears and either pick up a new one or have mine fixed. In my experience this added warranty sears offers to almost everything they sell gives me a piece of mind I couldnt get elsewhere.
I just bought this airbrush from them and even tho I’ve yet to use it, it sure seems to be built well.
Its a Badger Clone, duel action…Badger replacement parts are supposed to work with it.
I was very happy with the company, they shipped it right out.
I got it in 5 days and the holiday was in the middle of that with no postal delivery.
Cost with delivery
$34.00
I upgraded to an Iwata airbrush, and the little 1/16 H.P. compressor I have can’t push it.
I was considering a compressor from Sears, to match the requirements of the airbrush, since it appears to be half the price of comperable items offered elsewhere.
The one I thought might work had an air tank, which would hold the pressure a little longer. It also came with a nail gun. Is this the one you’re talking about?
