G’Day Mates !!!
After making payments onto my Home Loan every month, I have very few dollars left over to work on the greatest hobby.
So I need a cheap way to use my airbrush. Cans of compressed air is getting to expensive and buying a Air Compressor is really out of the question. Any ideas will be welcomed.

You can buy Airpac tanks here in Canada, perhaps there is a similar option in Australia. An airpac is a tank about the size of a propane bottle, and can be recharged at a gas station or any other air compressor.
Cheap and reusable but hard to control airflow. Get an innertube and pump it up at the service station. Not sure if you could get enough pressure. Don’t know how long it would last.
I’ve heard of guys using an old propane tank with some extra ‘fittings’ to attach a regulator and air hose. Not sure what the safety issues would be, but some sort of ‘air tank’ like this is probably the best and easiest. For filling the tank, you can either take it to a gas station, or buy one of them little ‘spare tire’ compressors that are usually at auto-type stores. I’ve seen them at garage sales and discount bins all over the place. They usually plug into a cigarette lighter socket and will get the tank up to pretty good pressure. It works pretty slowly, but it’s easier than carting the thing to a gas station. (this would work if you were using the ‘inner tube’ or ‘spare tire’ tank as well.

I use an azteck and run it from a tyre inflated to about 90psi, you must use a tube in the tyre, i have a tyre adapter then pressure regulator and water trap, this works great and is very cheap i get about 20 minutes painting time from a tyre. Also you could buy a cheap compressor from super cheap auto for about 80.00aus when there on special they are noisy but have a big tank on them. hth Regards Bob.
dive tanks work great and they are silent
