Hi, I’m new to these boards, so please bear with me.

I’m contemplating building a 1:72 scale model of a current-service RAAF F/A-18 Hornet, as seen here:

Now, aside from the decals, where on earth do I find six AIM-132s in 1:72 scale? I don’t fancy buying two more Airfix Eurofighters just for the missiles…
Is there an Italeri weapons set or some other Typhoon kit that might have some? I suppose scratchbuilding is a definite possibility…
Criminy, those Hornets are armed to the teeth.
Sorry, don’t know about where to find them. I thought the AIM-132 was a long dead system, did some other countries beside the US continue the program? (sorry CSB, I’m not trying to steal your topic, just curious is all)
Do a google search on AIM-132 and you will get a lot of information on the ASRAAM. Apparently UK and RAAF are/will be using this missile. The US is going with the AIM-120 AMRAAM and the new version of the Sidewinder, the AIM-9X.
I have heard from a pretty reliable source that the AIM-9X has a Mach 3 speed and 12G turn capability, plus all aspect acquisition and helmet mounting queing. In Other Words, much greater chance of getting a lock on and once it does, YOU ARE GOING TO GET HIT. You can’t outrun it and you can’t out turn it.

Yeah, no kidding. 12 AAMs, that’s two more than a baseline Su-27 can carry…

I see Phil beat me to the punch on answering this. [;)] Thanks, Phil. [:)]
Incicentally, I gather from and Air International article from last fall that the Canadian Air Force will also be acquiring the ASRAAM in the near future…

No worries, not a problem at all. [:)]
If you can find them , you want the Airfix RAF/NATO Weapons set (now oop, but - picture of the box lid at http://www.fortunecity.com/meltingpot/portland/971/Reviews/60s/buccaneer.htm
[comes with harmless but mildly irritating pop-ups] or the Heller equivalent.
I can’t remember what the contents of the Heller set are, exactly (it differs very slightly from the Airfix set, IIRC), but am pretty certain that both contain 4 ASRAAMs.
