Aichi D3A "Val" Question

I am currently building the above mentioned Hasegawa kit (1/48), I have am all eady to sew up the cockpit, but I am stumped on the panel that attaches to the compass. What is the proper location to attach this on/near the compass. Looking at the instructions I am still unclear as to the exact position.

Does anyone out there have a cockpit photo of the compass behindv the pilot seat? or a phot of a plane they have built that shows the compass?

Your help is appreciated.

I have not been able to find any pictures showing the area near the compass on the j-aircraft sight, but I appreciate the direction.

THere was one picture that was close…but it looks like the compass and panel in question are underneather the canopy between the pilor and gunner seats. Nonetheless, the pictures are very good references… thank you. It’s amazing what you can come up with.

Ultimately, I think the pictures link you posted made it clear that the panel is pretty much out of sight, so if I can squeeze it in somewhere, it’s not noticable anyways. I’ll taken an unedyucated guess at where it goes.
