Started step 1
I took some Perfect Putty to help clean some glue joints
Cool subject of an infamous sub. Look forward to your builds.
Thank you
Started step 3 . part A36 was not on the tree . I went back to my photo when i pulled the tree out of the package . Sure enough part A36 not there . I sent email to AVF Club . I will see if I get reply . I took over side round plastic sprue … then took my drill and sand it down to the correct size . Not perfect but very close for my eye .

You did a great job on the Indy & am very interested to see your sub. Have you painted the Indy yet? I am interested to see how you did it.
On the limber holes, I use Tempera water based poster paint to blacken the holes & a Q tip to wipe the excess off. then I coat it with dullcote or a mix of dull & gloss. I did a bad job on my I 58 as I didn’t get it all cleaned off before I sprayed it. Old eyes miss things sometimes.
Very nicely done so far. I think you will find Step 6 is building her Inner Pressure Hull just like the real 1-1 Scale…Cheers mark

It is always a good feeling when the Model is together and ready for Painting…Cheers Mark

You threw me when you wrote “missiles”. [:D] I was going “What? Some secret Japanese weapon?” A misunderstanding.
Such a nice build! And an unusual subject matter. You don’t see many Japanese submarine models.
