AEF Designs

I just discovered this place. They sell a lot of conversions and extras for Soviet, Israeli and US tanks, plus their customer service is fantastic.

Thanks Jason,That’s a dandy[tup]

Tony there was kind enough to help me with identifying a tank and basically arrived at the conclusion that I did not need to buy any of his stuff to make it work. I just cannot help but be impressed with that. Plus they have a lot of goodies- I see they have correct wheels for the LAV-25 and they are only $12.

Cool. They’ve got some really interesting stuff there.

I’ve seen this site before. Looks good. I’m glad you shared the customer service info. I am always leary of companys I’ve never used. I’ve been wanting to try them, now I think I,ll give them a try.

Thanks
Matt

I am placing an order with them on Monday (he is out of the office today)

Thanks Jason!
That site’s a keeper.

Folks have a either a love or hate relationship with AEF Designs. They’ve been around a long time (I remember when their M1A1 conversion for the Tamiya kit was the only way to get an A1).

Do some research and search the forums of some of the more serious armor related modeling sites such as Missing Links (www.missing-lynx.com), Track Links (www.track-link.net) or Armorama.com (www.armorama.com) regarding AEF Designs and their products.

I’ve used their stuff before. Good quality castings.

Been using them for quite a while now. The only issue I have ever had is I ordered a bunch or cast israeli water cans and had some pits and worm holes. However, they were small and I filled them with Zap-a-Gap. Everything else has been wonderful.

I remember poring over their ads in FSM when I was in high school. I didn’t know they were still around. Is their stuff any good?

I’ve purchased a number of AEF stuff and like most modelers a great many of my purchases remain unbuilt so i can’t vouch for assembly. But i’d like state the clear benifits i’ve noticed in dealing with AEF.

  • Honest customer service: has always replyed to any e-mailed question and told me when i didn’t need an item for a particular version i wanted to build
  • Fair prices
  • Well crafted ruck sacks and spare gear, the best i’ve seen
  • unusal, atypical subject matter.

AEF’s homepage remains a favorite of mine and i recomend to other modelers
