my LHS owner tossed in this kit with my $185 order to thank me for the biz…BUT…I’m not really into figures but think i’ll give it a shot this first time[X-)]

the back of the box shows the camo to be HARD_EDGE…how can i get that with an AB,sorry i don’t use brushes

all ideas/recommendations WELCOMED!!! [dinner]

Hello!

I sure am happy for You, to have lots of money, it’s good to hear the financial crisis didn’t ruin everybody.

As for figure painting - always there has to be a first time. I don’t think using brushes would hurt You, sometimes - from time to time it’s more convenient to paint something with a brush. But if You say definitely NEIN to brushes, no big deal. You sure can paint everything with an airbrush. Just use the so called “mask”. You just mask the spots and You are good to go. Takes You like ten times more time and effort, but it’s Your call. Good luck with the build and have a nice day

You can airbrush the colors since the box art is wrong about the camo edge, but you’re gonna have to break down and learn how to brush for the “rain streaks” on the Tan Water jump smock…

Also, note the rank (in this case, a Hauptmann = captain) used on the camo…

Your kit looks good and I always wanted to buy it along with all other Fallschirmjagers kits! But I probably won’t paint the uniforms in camo because it would be very challenging for me after 20+ of no modeling. I think it was more common for Fallschirmjagers to wear those one or two color toned uniforms during the war like the pictures below. It all really depends on which year and where you want to go especially in the Italian and Crete theaters… just wanted to share my thought. Good luck and it will be fun watching your build. [tup]
