Nice model. pity you didn’t do more research on your subject. The bunker is all wrong. Landrover vehicles were not used by the adg’s in Vungtau. there is NO red mud in Vungtau.
The Bunker was two stories high, the upper section had 3 layers of sand bags on top. one layer wasn’t enough to stop shell burst. the whole top section was surrounded by chicken wire so as to stop grenades from being tossed in, because it was next to the perimeter fence.
The vehicle was an ex US army 3/4 ton 4x4 which the AGDIES used, not a land rover.
How do I know this , Well I helped build the bunker and also drove the vehicle and there wasn’t red soil/mud within 4 miles of the air field.
Dear maj mike, of course it’s a model. If it wasn’t it would be bigger and look more life like. What I’m saying is that some people may consider the model to be a true representation of the the actual bunker etc. I am mortified and my flabber is totally gasted that you should think that I’m belittling the modelers ability, I am not. cheers etc and so forth. psuedospook (yes, my handle is deliberately spelt wrong.)
Dude, I think what MM was saying was LIGHTEN UP! There are ways to say things and WAYS to say things. Just by the post language you come across as a bit mean. Try to be diplomatic without sugarcoating it. This forum is supposed to be a outlet to showcase out abilities and yes, to learn AND have fun. Listen to the people that know and you’ll learn to how to deal with other members of OUR forum.
