Does anyone have nay inof on this kit? I picked it up as a abg only kit with no box. I wasn’t even aware acc. min. made a P-51C. It seems to contain the standard wing sprues they used before, and then a new fuselage with a rear plug.
I just picked up the -B myself. I figured they must have a -C by looking at the tail configuration. Interesting how many of the -A parts come with it.
The AM kits in the black boxes were from their first run as a company, and they no longer produce the B/C kits. They’ve had on their website that the B/C was coming out, but that’s been since last August. I emailed them, and the answer was basically “engineering delays”. A friend who keeps up with the industry said it was more likely lack of cash to pay for the kits.
I’ve built their -A model, which is the exact same sprues as you have in the -C (the ones that contain the wings). The kit is top notch and built up very nice, so I’m quite sure the -B and -C will do the same.
Make sure you are careful in lining up the floor and other parts when you close up the fuselage, as a nice, close fit will make sure the wing to fuselage fit goes well. When you fit the wing to fuselage, test fit a few times, as the fit is well, but it’s a sorta tricky join (or was for me), especially at the front of the wing/fuselage join.
I really liked the cockpit on the -A, and the -B looks nice too. It’s not resin, but it’s so darn good that OOB is perfectly fine. I also like the IP being clear- gives you a lot of options.
Only thing I wish was that they had the canopy cut up for being open. Having to saw it open is a pain. I’ll probably use the Malcom hood.
That’s an odd one. They do have two P-51B kits and an F-6C kit shown as future releases on their web site, maybe what you have is a test shot. I thought I had at least one of all the Mustangs they have done so far and there are no B’s of C’s in my pile.
[edit][oops]Just read Jon’s post…Never knew that, or else brain fade has set in again!
I build the P 51 A a coupe of years ago. Well engeniered kit. Goes together beautifully. The only part that I found needed any fitting was the intake for the radiator. It is a bit smaller than the opening on the fuselage. Interior detail and fit are awesome. One of the best kits I have ever build

We had 4 or 5 of them in the raffle at M-Con last week. The guy that sets thats stuff up said that’s the way they came… bag, no box. I thought it was weird. Took a quick look in the bag but could not see much.
Nice work Soulcrusher!
How did you acheive that weathering effect?
I ended up with this effect purely by accident. There was a slight reaction when weathering. The wash clouded the clear coat slightly in some spots. That is what gave it the faded desert look. I have not build another desert service plane yet but I am going to try it agian on a my Amtech P 40 K roundtail. I have North Africa service decals for it. Lets see if I can pull it off agian.

LOL! That’s what you call a happy accident. It looks great!
LOL Marc. I bet you can never ever guess where I got mine from.[:D]
HAHA HMMM? I can’t imagine where you got it.
SO you got an award in the competiton and a prize in the raffle??? Nice day for you[:)]
They made an A, B and a C. I have all of them. The C is just the B with a different tail. Mine came in a box just like the others. Did yours have all the instructions etc…? If you need something let me know. I have built the B recently and its a great kit.
Hey there Tanky, I have the Acc Min P-51C in its original box that I picked up for $10 at a swap meet a while ago. As Dave said if you need the instructions or anything else just drop me a PM.
Cheers
The P51C kit differs from the P-51B in having a tail with a fin fillet similar to the P51D.
