Is any company reboxing the AM B 25 Kits?
Italeri. But they’re hella expensive.
Honestly unless you’re set on a C/D or whatnot, check out the Revellogram. IMO it’s one of the best kits Monogram ever boxed.
I’m tempted to come back with something stupid but I’ve already been banned from one site this week.
Seriously, Scale Hobbyist, Italeri 66.98 Rellogram 17.03… maybe I’ll buy both and do a side-by-side build.
Well, I’ll never take any offense to snark!
I usually don’t default to “get the Revellogram” - as much as I like many of their older kits, I tend to prefer newer stuff (see P-47s…). But their B-25 is extremely well done. The only thing I’m planning to really mess with on the one I’m going to build up as a PBJ would probably be the gun barrels. Got myself some Quickboost resin on the way for that.
Also, be sure to check out vendor tables at any model contests. I saw an A/M Mitchell going for $20 at the show here in Austin last fall. Still kicking myself for not nabbing it.
Id have to agree with Doogs on that...I
ve built several Revell B-25s over the years..real nice kit. I have 2 AM Mitchells in the stash...want to build one but I just built a Promodeler B-25....need a little break 1st. I
d like to see a side by side AM vs. Revell…wadda ya say there Mr. Brady?
Well Mr. Troublemaker, I’ve got several group builds going now but I could always change the Too Many Props build to two Mitchells instead one B 17… same number of props and all. I’ll let you know in a couple of days. This might even be an idea for a group build… each participant builds a Revellogram side-by-side with a newer more “modern” kit… something to thnk about.
A side by side Revellogram to A/M build, I’d like to see that. I haven’t build a Revellogram B-25 in years (guess I need to), but I do have an A/M -25G in the stash. I did build two A/M -25Bs a few years ago.
If you change your mind for the Too Many Props GB let me know, it would be a great place to do the side by side.[;)]
I gotta agree with Doogs and Troublemaker. Any of the Monogram Line of B-25’s build into a great looking model. Side by side all things being equal I’d take the Monogram, because for the price it can be built to look just as good as the A/M kit. Now, if I can get the A/M kit at a vendor’s table or on ebay (which I have) for a great low price, well I will. But with some good paint and nice markings Monogram’s B-25’s need not bow to anyone. Rick
The Monogram is much more accurate than AM in the canopy, cowl, props, vertical tail surfaces and especially the awful AM nose…
But the AM has exquisite surface detail. The Monogram nose fits the AM kit!!! I’ll smash mould the Monogram’s shallower canopy to make the center post deeper, and I got the Quickboost cowls.
All the better Monogram bits will be used on AM.

Rick, Gaston: I’ve got no preconceived notiions about either kit… I’ve only been building kits since July. I like the B 25 and all the reviews I’ve seen give the nod to AM in accuracy Revellogram in price. In any case I’ll find out. I’ve decided to do one of each side by side. I should start in the middle of next month. I’ll post WIP threads in both the Too Many Props GB and the aircraft forum… now I just got find the room to build two large models at the same time.
