Academy or Hasegawa?

I’m planning to do an F-14A in 1/48. Which is the better kit, the Academy or the Hasegawa?

I’d go with the Hasegawa Tomcat… A lil pricey but worth it… Over all detail is right on and the parts are crisp and clean… They usually give you two choices to dress her in. However aftermarket decals are avalible as well…

As for the Academy kit, it’s the average build with decent detailing… As for the fit I hear pro’s n cons about…

Remember that detail comes at a price, but not just a monetary one. The Hasegawa kit is much more detailed, but is also more complex in breakdown and requires careful assembly.

If I recall correctly, the Academy kit is more or less a lineal descendent of the Monogram kit, but has some improvements in parts fit. (I haven’t seen this kit.)
