Academy F-86F Sabre?

Hi,

I’d like to ask if someone has any experinces with the Academy’s F-86F Sabre 1/72 kit… I wanted for years to build this particular aircraft from Korean Air War and now I’ve found this one. It costs 300 Czech crowns (cca 10 EURO) which is, in my point of view, very fair price. I also know that Fujimi produced the same plane and in the same scale but it’s harder to get this on the Czech market… And it will be probably more expensive.

If anyone can tell me “yes, buy it” or “don’t be such a fool”, I’d be thankful.

Cheers,
Pisis

Pisis-I’ve always liked Acdemy kits-never had any problems with them (their ME-163’s are terrific). Although I just got the Fujimi F-86F kit because I wanted to do John Glenn’s plane. I’d buy it! Sabre’s are a nice addition to any collection although paint schemes are limited-you can have silver or silver.

The Academy Sabre is actually the old Hobbycraft kit re-boxed. It’s not a bad kit, but not as good as the Fujimi IMHO.

Regards, Rick

I recently built this kit, and found it to be very well detailed and a fairly easy
build. All the major components fit well. The intake trunk was a bit tricky, but
nothing too bad. I would strongly recommend it. Frank
