" OK, fellows, hit the “report abuse” button on his original post and no more responses here. Don’t feed the TROLL!!! "
Just for the record; I have never had any problems from any on-line hobby shop and have always maintained two-way conversations with each just as a courtesy. There are inherent problems with all E-Businesses and no one in particular is any different than another.
I can always purhcase any kit from any number of hobby suppliers and having been employed by one long ago am able to say in all honesty that the customer’s opinions are taken seriously however the one in question today on these forums is down-right discusting and has no place on any forum, anywhere and for any reason. There is no exuse and I am glad to see it gone, perhaps Mr. Hamburglar will never post here again!
johncpo
John, these actions bij Hamburglar have nothing to do with greatmodels or any other hobby shop. He is a troll, he only wants us to be irritated.
Our hobby is building models, his hobby is getting people agitated.
Here is some more info on trolling:
Maybe it’s just coincidence, but it seems like all the troll(S) come from the 0 GMT time zone.
I certainly do not condone he’s actions but, after reading the initial post that set him off last night, I was wondering if he less Troll and more Emotionally Unstable. From what I understand when reading last night- and I could be wrong- (I was following his mad posting spree down the entire Forum Topics list as he was posting them them), he piped in on a thread regarding an online supplier, stating he had to wait longer than expected for something he had ordered. He took someone else’s reply the wrong way (the very wrong way), and he was set off like a string of Black Cats. Violently so.
I am not as concerned with trolls as I am with seriously unstable anger.
Oh well, gone is still gone
Nah, he weren’t no troll…
He just went South and commited suicide by moderator…
He was not a troll for sure… sad actually, he mentioned he was a vet, I have spent the last several years with a navy reserve medical unit, his response (small trigger, uncontrollable anger & violent response, unable to STOP once started) are classic examples of PTSD. The PMs (and emails) he sent me contained (amid a plethora of profanity and dog sex references) comments along the lines that “he served long enough to do whatever he wants and expect good service and rant when he wants”. That rambling comment in which an ex-military feels “entitled” to certain violent behaviors is also an expression of the PTSD, a sense of helplessness in a situation leading to violent outbursts. I typed the above in all seriousness.
This is the joke part: For the record, I was always more of a cat person than a dog lover.
Seem to recollect that this is not his first offensive rant & his behaviour is waaay out of line for this site.
…
If he had a ‘beef’ he should STILL moderate his language, as it was all heat, no light, & NO content!
.
There are times & places where that response could be the ‘correct technical term’ [:I] (I work in IT, btw) but this isn’t it!
.
Only way to deal with this is not to respond but to " Just click “Report Abuse” button
.
Is he the one eating my carriage returns [banghead]

I would bet that that’s because it’s the same person, most likely.
What a pathetic individual.
The weird thing is that for awhile he just seemed like a regular FORUM member and then just went off…strange…
…and I thought I was bad when I got suspended…as I recall I never made mention of the harming of animals…
Perhaps he just lacks the ability of any kind of diplomacy. Some people take minor constructive criticism, as a personal attack that they are worthless. Others wildly attack someone for not redoing an entire model because the real thing had 137 rivets as opposed to the 136 on the kit, and proceeds to call them a rank ametuer, and they need to learn about building before posting. Some people just lack civility or diplomacy, and forget, that opinions are like well, uh yeah. Everyone has one, and everyone’s is different. Don’t get bent out of shape, accept it and move on. If you are not sure, then ask, and do so in a civil manner, and you will get the same, and most likely you will find out that it’s not how it sounded to you in the first place.
Manny is right, until this he seemed like just another new guy here.
Of course, the other idea is, maybe he just lost his med insurance and couldn’t afford his medication anymore. Considering current economy and such, it’s as good of a theory as any other.
I hope the fellow finds some peace…[V]

People are capable of anything… 'ya never really know anyone.

I guess I’ll have to keep a closer eye on my doggie when I’m posting here…
he shouldn’t be exposed to this kind of exotic voyeurism.

Classic PTSD. A dear friend of mine just lost his son to PTSD after returning from Iraq. 19 year old kid took his own life. What a waste…
God Speed hamburglar, hope you work through this.

As a person that is VERY familiar with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder for the uninitiated), I feel ashamed that I didn’t even THINK of that. My uncle, a Vietnam vet, has a service connected rating for PTSD (50% I believe), while I myself am rated at 70% for PTSD (Operation Desert Storm). JMart’s post (quoted above) is, I think, an excellent diagnosis. It also explains the sudden-ness of Hamburgler’s (actually, it’s ‘Hamburgular’) explosion. The best path for him is one of treatment, but alas, that is something that one must WANT to participate in.
Frankly, I find this forum (and a few others like it, albeit differing topics, more of a distraction from the “stuff” that we went through - and go through - with PTSD than a stressor. Maybe calling it a “creative outlet” would be a better turn of phrase?
On a less serious note, I’ve always liked dogs…is there something wrong with ME? I mean, other than the normal stuff.[:-^]
Michael
I agree that he appeared to be fine for his first month or so here. The PTSD can suddenly flare up and that could have been the problem. taking up on what Agent G has stated, I feel bad for him, I hope he finds his peace and is able to put it togeather.
For us we need to move on. These thing are going to happen from time to time. I agree with the idea of “just report abuse”. Either a troll or someone out of control, don’t answer just report.
Manny…after the dio you did with the dog we know your OK. [:O] Besides…if we report your, who is going to do all the thought provoking threads…You are the dream center of this forum (sometimes dirty dreams).
Rounds Complete!!
Thanks everyone with chiming in, thanks to those who PMed me and such…
Michael, thanks for sharing that, fair winds and following seas to you on your recovery. And yes, its been proven that hands-on hobbies significantly help recovery from PTSD.
I actually responded to one of his PMs, not sure if he is going to get it, this was the meat of the message, I share because it may help some lurker or reader of the thread:
You probably have been banned by now, not sure if you will get this, just one small piece of info for you.
I am a war veteran, navy commander, medical corps. The past few years associated with a medical unit and dealing with DEMOB personnel, including Marines & CBs.
Please go see your ESGR,or NG DEMOB or VA liason, you have some classic signs of PTSD: the uncontrollable and violent anger, inability to stop once started, sense of entitlement.

I dunno seems the outburst happen usually late at night and Like doog said probably the same person. Probably on the same liquor or worse. While I am sympathtic with whatever title they choose to call combat stress fatigue stuff I am not to merciful on self inflicted type wounds especially when it involves actions to disrupt others. I just hope he grows up and gets his act together. Hey y’all put up with me?
On a side note the Navy officer thing? Is that where you learned to use a skillet like that? [(-D]

You know… this is the longest time I have ever been on a forum. I have always hit a point where something rubs me the wrong way and I go off. Granted, its NEVER been to that point, normally just some insults and vulgarity, and what not. I have been a good boy here. But I went through hamburguler’s posts before those posts he made, were normal forum posts. He was so not a troll. Something jsut rubbed him the wrong way. He might have a mental disorder, who knows.
My first post to him last night after seeing his post count and checking previous posts was something to the effect that he should cease right now, clean it up and relax. Tomorrow’s another day.
Guess I didn’t reach him, but I tried. Peace, whoever you are.
