A10 Warthog ordinance colours

Howdy fellas,

New to the Forum’s here. Was wondering if anyone knew of a source of good colour pictures of the different ordinance carried by the A10.
The kit paint instructions seem fairly basic, I was just trying to find a cross-reference with pics…

Tread.

There’s the Walk Around book from Squadron. And then there’s a Verlinden book. For their length they are very expensive – surprise, surprise – but they have color photos of ordnance, if memory serves.

There are photos at the ARC web site:
http://www.aircraftresourcecenter.com/
Click on the ‘Walkarounds’ link at the top-right of the page.

This site has some pictures of the individual weapons:

This site is very good also with photos of weapons:

You have come to the right place as we have two forum members here who are crew on the A-10’s so maybe they can give you a hand.

Well, being a weapons loader in the Air Force, try this site: www.weaponz.net (DO NOT CLICK ON THE AMMO LINK!!!)

hey Tread,
Well I worked the Ole Hawg for about 4 years, 2 major deployments to Afghanistan & Iraq, the colors of the munitions depends on where we received them, most of the MK-82’s are Olive Drab, with Yellow srtipe on the nose just aft of the fuse(which is black), the GBU-12’s are O.D. with Orange writing and a Yellow stripe just aft of the seeker head, the AGM-64’s where either Gloss White, Lt Ghost Grey, or Forest Green, and some times over sprayed the White with F.G., the LITENING II pods are painted Gunship Grey, the SUU-17 pods are Dk Ghost Grey, now the new scheme for the MK-82’s are O.D. with LT Ghost Grey tail sections, as with the High Drag MK-82’s, hope this may clear some of the air for you
