During my life before retirement I worked in just about every corner of the world collecting along the way kits to be built now.
Amongst them and now under construction is a Tamiya Kit No. 11 of the Tiger 1 to 1/25 scale…No longer produced. In the intervening years the original box got severely maimed and a few bits got lost. No problem - they can be scratch built, but I need 19 track links. Does anybody know where there is an after market set or have any other suggestions please. Thanks, Brian Angove (Spain)
Might try searching Ebay for any builders kits. I have the 1/25 Tiger, but don’t know if there are any extra links included. I know my 1/25 scale Academy Jagdpanther carried an extra link or two.
Welcome to the forum, Brian. I’ll bet you’ve got a lot of facinating kits there, and probably a great story to go along with most of them!

Hi, Brian!
Welcome to the forum.
I’ve built the ol’ 1/25 Tiger I twice: once about 25 years ago, and again about 5 years ago when Tamiya re-released it (here in Japan, anyway).
As I recall, you get about 6-8 spare links with this kit (in addition to the 6 or so for the glacis rack). The spare links from my first kit are back in the States, and the spare links from the more recent kit are serving as a keyholder (and are pretty chewed up, as those vinyl links get!), so I do not have any to offer you.
You might try the Tamiya agent in Spain:
www.hisinsa.com
They may be able to secure the links you need.
Other than that, if 3 or more generous modelers with the extra links sent 'em your way, you’d be set!
Anyone? Anyone?
SInce these trax are the weakest link (no pun intended) in that great old kit, I’d love to see some aftermarket trax, but alas, I’m afraid none exist.
Happy hunting, Brian!
Hey, thanks everyone for the welcome. With regards to Hisinsa, they are agents for just about everybody in the model world here in Spain and are not the greatest at replying to enquiries (even when you send them in Spanish), in fact to get parts for a Billings boat I had to write direct to Billings who sent the parts in 2 days. Maybe I’ll just try writng direct to Tamiya in Japan. If nothing else I can turn the model into a diorama of a tank that has shed a track !!! Brian
Hi, Brian.
That’s too bad about Hisinsa. They should realize that poor customer service will eventually lead to poor sales.
Well, next time I’m I visit Tamiya World, I’ll ask the Tamiya boys if those parts are still available.
In the meantime, surely there’s gotta be three fellow modelers out there who could combine forces to put together 19 links for Mr. Angove?
