A slight problem...

I went to go paint my Corsair today with my Badger 100 double-action airbrush, but when I took it out of its case I noticed that the trigger was loose, and that the back lever piece was completely out of place, not putting any pressure of the trigger like it’s supposed to, just rattling around all willy-nilly. The needle also appears to be broken off.

Don’t ask me how this happened, the last time I used it (several weeks ago) it was in working order. My question is, does anyone know how to repair this, or who I should contact about repairing it? Thanks.

If it’s what I think it is, it will just take a few seconds to fix.

First, refer to your parts diagram - if you don’t have it, then refer to this: http://www.badger-airbrush.com/100ilparts.htm

From your description, it seems most likely that part 50-030 (tube shank) isn’t screwed in as far as it should be.

Unscrew the handle and loosen (but don’t remove) the needle lock nut (51-010).

Turn the tube shank clockwise until it engages the trigger and lever. Do not over-tighten or it will lock the trigger up. Re-seat the needle and tighten the lock nut. Re-attach the handle.

If all is well, that should be all there is to it.

Thanks Phil! Your directions helped me fix the trigger problem. Unfortunately, I think I lost the needle, so I’ll have to postpone painting my model until get a new one. Again, thanks for all your help!

If the trigger is working now, and it and the back lever do not fall out when you invert the airbrush, the needle should be in place (the needle passes through both of the abovementioned parts). You should see the back end of the needle itself protruding from the assembly. Loosen the needle lock nut, press the needle in as far as it will go and retighten the lock nut.

Ooooh, ok. I definitely see what you’re talking about now, and I managed to fix it for real this time. Thanks for all your help! I’ll post some pictures of my Corsair when I’m done painting it!

Ok, so I went to go paint my model last night, and for some reason, when I pull the trigger, the air will come out of the nozzle, but the paint will not. I’m not certain why this is happening, but could this be related to the problems I had with it earlier?
