A simple old hydraulic jack weathering method

Another weathering test subject. This time a simple hydraulic jack. What do you guys think? All weathering was done after priming with black from a spray can. Then hand painted the piece with silver from Citadel. After adding a decal I proceeded with the weathering:

  1. Tamiya Black Panel Line solution

  2. Tamiya Brown Panel Line solution

  3. Mig Black and Light Rust pigments

  4. Another odd brand Buff/earth pigment I got from a arts and craft hobby store.

  5. An old Mig oil/grease solution.

  6. Then topped it off with a dull spray coat from Winsor & Newton

Glad you approved. The scale is 1:24.

I think that it looks great. It’s the little details like these that can really make a model get noticed and make it “POP”. Well done!

 Thanks my good man. Much appreciated.

Great job! Looks all greasy and grimy, the way most of these jacks look in real life. Or at least, based on what I have seen.

Like most in heavy industrial local areas and/or mechanical shops.
