A nekkid P-39

Second build for the year completed. This one for the P-39 GB

Eduard 1/48 kit, Eduard flaps, Cutting Edge cockpit and decals, Alclad II, and a Quickboost engine.

Hope you like her. As always, comments and criticisms welcome.

I dont care much for the P-39, but that ones a beauty!!

YEA!! Nekkid [:D][:P] Looks great!! Never seen one in NMF before. I like it, I like it!!!

A bare metal Aircobra is definately unusual, but you did a beautiful job on that one.

Marc, a truly beautiful build.

The NMF looks stunning, especially on a P-39.

Karl

Marc,

I am well impressed! I’ve never wanted a P-39…until now! I know its easy to offer lavish praise but seriously this one is very, very good. I mean it, its flawless.[bow][bow][bow]

I think you just raised the bar a lot higher.[tup]

Looks like a home run! I’ve got the Hasegawa kit on deck, I haven’t built a P-39 since the 70’s (monogram). I’ve heard that the Eduard kit is flawed having too thick wing chord? You’ve done a really clean job. Can you give us some close ups of engine and pit?

regards,

Steve

Up to your usual standards, and then some, Marc.

Awesome job on the NMF, what did you use?

Very nice Marc. Don’t see many NMF Airacobras & it does look sweet. Lil Abner would love it !! [:D]

Regards, Rick

That is one awesome NMF bird! Very nice looking. I’ve never seen one like that.

Very nice cobra , [:)]

Marc,

That is one fine looking P-39, love the nmf instead of the usual camo scheme! Thanks for sharing! BTW, how was the kit itself?

Brian [C):-)]

Thak you all for the kind words.

crockett- you may be referring to the thick trailing edge on the wings. I haven’t heard the chord is too think, that doesn’t mean it isn’t so. The TE scales up to more than an inch thick and squared off if left alone. Lots of scraping gets it down fairly easily.

Daywalker-Alclad II…overall duraluminum with various panels picked out with aluminum, dark aluminum and magnesium. Followed by a chalk pastel wash.

Brain44- the Eduard kit is real nice. The fit was great on the first one I built. I created my own “fit issues” on this one since I kind of had to force the resin pit and engine to fit soothe fuselage a tiny bit of a twist that made the wings and canopy a bit more work than last time.

Daisy Mae is looking good, Marc. Not a blemish to be found. Great build.

[#ditto] to all of the above! [tup][tup][tup] She definitely is stunning Marc.

Thanks Dave

Thanks John… but they are there. The camera can be very kind.[;)]

Hey Marc, looks like she’s been run hard. Really good work. Can you share your formula for Bell Green?

Thanks Max. It’s MM enamal, FS 34092 right from the bottle.

Why is it that when my canopies have blemishes, they look like crap, but when others’ canopies are tainted, they look realistically weathered?[%-)] I just don’t get it. Great job, wingnut!
