A jeep for a co-worker

A co-worker has an '05 TJ and really likes it. We were at the track at the LHS and saw this Revell Wrangler Jeep on the shelf, I told him I’d build it for him as practice for NOS kits I have.

I used Gaahleri airbrushes and Kaleido paints exclusively except for the marker lights and tail lights, those are 30+ year old Testors stop light red and turn signal amber. It’s as near the same color as his Jeep as I can get without mixing colors. I don’t really understand color so I tend to just use what looks right straight out of the bottle. The wheels and tires are resin prints from Etsy. The spare not matching the others was a deliberate choice, it matches what’s on his Jeep. He is cheap and the spare wheel was free with a set of used tires.

I did not go for a high gloss finish, he uses his Jeep off road and it’s seen it’s fair share of rocks, dirt, and tree branches. I used satin varnish for the trim and I think I used flat varnish for the under carriage, although it too could have been satin. I like the look of the satin varnish.
