A General Update from Lucien H.

I’ve been gone a while, so I thought it’d be fair to give everybody a general update on some of the stuff that’s been going on.

First, an update on some actual aircraft projects I’ve been working on. My Spruce Goose is still languishing on my shelves in need of some sheet plastic. Hopefully soon.

My Bezobrazov Triplane scratchbuild is the subject of some better news. I’ve got the main fuselage and wings painted, the lower wing painted and attached, and (most importantly) the four main struts attached. The hardest part is over.

Finally, remember this little number?

Well, she’s all finished up, and awaiting a full “build complete” topic of her own.

Sorry about no photos, but that’s the next bit of news. I can’t get them up right now because I’m in Johnson City Tennessee (beautiful area, BTW) for my college Indoor Track National Meet. I won’t get back until Sunday, so until then, no photos. Sorry.

My final bit of info is a bit more negative. My modelling expenses are going to take a huge hit for a while. I managed to wreck my old car (a crappy Ford Escort) and need to find (and pay for) a new one. I’m looking for something cheap, but on my limited budget, it still means I’m not getting any new models for QUITE some time. That’s okay. I need to thin the stash anyway.

In any case, that’s pretty much what’s been going on. Thanks for reading. You may return to your regularly scheduled forums…[;)]

Goose? What Goose?

…and what weird Ruski plane is that in your photos?

So, Mike, you’re saying your car has that extremely weathered look, huh? Sorry about that. My 89 Caravan nearly went that route last Wednesday too, at just under 19 years and 238,000 miles on the clock. Which would have really ticked me off because I am quite used to it by now. Guy turned in front of me in a 45mph zone. Cleared him by 10 feet. Don’t like that kind of excitement!

Looking forward to the I-270 pictures. Or was that I-250. Some Istrebichel or other.

I take it you are alright from the crash?

Yeah, guess you’re okay then? Miss your wit and advice around here. Good luck…and win a race or two!

should have told me, we could have went and had lunch or dinner

Yeah, the crash was relatively minor. I wasn’t watching and managed to clip a car parked too far out into the road. My car probably could be fixed, but there’s other things wrong with it too, so it’s best I just get something new. I was looking at a Chevy S-10, but we need to see if we can get the payments down enough that I can afford it.

As for my race last night? Well, I ran the 5000 meter (about 3 miles) last night and pretty much blew it. I got second to last, or last (I couldn’t tell) and ran a time that I hadn’t ran since High School. [|(] Ah well. At least our two mile relay team won. National Champions, baby! [party]
