These are a few of my What If? aircraft models that I’ve built in past years. I don’t consider them highly detailed or contest worthy as there’s plenty of flaws on them. I only built them out of boredom or curiosity or just for the hell of it. I like changing decals, paint colors, etc. on models. It makes modeling more interesting.
Really creative stuff. Nice work.
Pretty cool stuff,interesting schemes.
I think my favorite in the list is the DARPA XST display. The Packer Attacker is a close second.
@PhoenixG
When I made that DARPA XST display long ago, I was thinking of placing that round display on top of some sort of base with a green light and rotating mechanism inside so it looked like the aircraft were sitting on top of a radar screen somewhat with a radar beam rotating around the screen. Still haven’t figured out how I’m going to build it, or even if I want to continue to.
A few other aircraft displays I built long ago are below.
A 1/144 scale TOP SECRET PROJECT AURORA display, and a 1/200 scale Northrop Flying Wings display, and also a 1/72 scale Japanese X-29. And the last picture (When I went to a past contest long ago.) is a display of small 1/144 scale Soviet aircraft (supposedly) flown and tested at Area 51.
Cool stuff! I really like the DARPA and Area 51 displays.
Far Out models. These do look fun.
Great work. Really like the Ho229 in the Japanese markings.
Love the Green Bay scheme.
They are cool,I remember FSM featured a guy with what if planes,I remember an Israeli A-10 and an Austrailian F-16
@Aggieman
Thanks. It was really hard to get Green Bay Packer decals for the wings. Just don’t ask me where I found them. I’m NOT telling.
@Tojo72
Yes, I remember that FSM article! It was the March 1990 issue of FSM. Pics below. That article is what got me into building What If type models.
Can’t believe it was 35 yrs ago
