A few 1/35 armor builds

Pictures of some armor kits that I built a few years ago. They are kind of dusty from sitting on the shelf. All kits are 1/35 and made by Tamiya expect the Whippet from Emhar. I believe the jagdtiger is the last piece of armor I’ve completed in three years.

I really like the color of the JagdTiger.A bit darker than we usually see.

Go back with that Whippet to the workbench! this tank screams for a bunch of mud and oily stains!

Very nice,although a bit shiny.[;)]

nice work like the pics.

TD4438 thanks. The camera or my photography skills kind of washed out the colors on the JagdTiger. Its not really that dark in person.

KFS-minatures you’re right the Whippett does need more mud and stains. Its going back on the bench.

detailfreak thanks, I had the flash on the camera so that explains them looking shiny. The Type 97 did turn out shiny for some reason even though its dull coated.

Thanks spadx111

Greysnake, nice jobs. A little to clean but… If I may make a suggestion. Add some flat black to the inside of the barrels on your Japanese and perhaps your JagdTiger and Challenger vehicles.

Welcome to the forums. A nice little collection of armor you have.

You’ll learn a lot about weathering and making your vehicles look more realistic here. You should brush up on some terms like pin washing, drybrushing, and washes in general. These would give a real dimension to your finishes. Right now they are a bit chromatically-flat.

SO are you back into building armor, or just a passing through?

MECHTECH thanks. Right about them being a little to clean, I’m not that comfortable doing a lot of weathering just yet. Thanks for the suggestion on the black for the inside of the gun barrel. On the Challenger I actually painted the inside black. No idea why I didn’t do the same thing on the other two. [*-)]

doog thanks for the welcome [Y]

Oh yeah I’m already learning lots of new techniques on how to make my stuff look better. I’m going to dig through some of my less then great efforts and practice on those.

I’m pretty much back to building armor, I have a lot of shelf queens to keep me occupied for rest of the year. Hears one I’m working on Tamiya’s 1/35 Panther G with the Eduard zimmerit. I did not build this one my dad actually did and for whatever reason he got bored with it. It was just painted dark yellow and looked pretty boring. So to spice it up a little, I used one of Tamiya’s weathering sets for the white wash. I’m not aiming for anything great just something to practice my skills on.

The picture was taken about four days ago. Since then I’ve beaten up on the finish some more.

Cool!Looks good!

You’re on your way then! Looks like you’re going to learn exactly what you need to know!
