A-10 warthog

Howdy everyone I am tossing aroud the idea of taking out my Revell A-10 warthog kit. My 1st impresion of this kit is how slopy everything is just by looking at it. Any suggestions on what I can do to this kit for a good scale apearence? I will most likly be modeling it on the ground in mainanence mode. Thanks in advance for the suggestions

Jason,

You need to give us a little more to go on here- what scale: 1/48th or 1/72nd? I"m assuming you are referring to the 1/48th Monogram mold boxed by Revel (often referred to as Revelogram).

This is actually a great kit! It builds into the most accurate A-10 in 1/48th scale and is a bargain. Drawbacks are raised panel lines and poor fit and molding in some areas (because the molds are not new). There has been a lot said on this kit. I’d reccomend checking out some articles at the Aircraft Resource Center, or do a Google search on Monogram or Revel A-10.

Sorry it is the 1-72 scale warthog. Dont know what ells to say about it but my first impresion apon opening the box and lookign at the parts on the tree is this is the worst mold job I have seen in my life. However I will agree the level of detail is verry good.

Hey Jason
the only thing I’ve seen on the old Monogram kit was that they are modeling the older A-10A’s manufactured around 1975 or 76 because of the Home Plate Antenna on the nose & tail of the fuselage, and there is some others problems but they could be fixed easly but for the scale it is pretty accurate, I actually work the plane and currently deployed to Iraq for Iraqi Freedom, if you have any questions about the ole Warthogs just drop a line at

Thanks I might just do that. My goal is to make this the most accurat detaild plane in my collection.

Jason,
The 1/72 Revellogram Hog is a real dog. Poorly molded and the fit is terrible. I scrapped mine halfway through and got the Hasegawa one instead. Good luck!
