This is my first proper post on this Forum so please excuse me if the photos are all over the place and the text looks a bit wierd!!!
As a kind of introduction I thought I would show you this Spitfire I built recently. This project took me over 3 years to build as I had to do a lot of research and I had to try to figure out ways of making the parts I wanted to be removable …work. The Pilots seat is removable and also the front Fuel Cells.I have also hidden in amongst the detail wheat bulbs so that they light up.
The interior of this Spitfire was scratch built…the Engine was enhanced with many scratch built parts added. The Kit I used for this project was the old 1970s Airfix mk1a kit.
I don’t know how many photos I am allowed to post here but if I can there will be quite a few as it is a large project.
Any feed back…good or bad would be appreciated…[:)]
Really superb work! I checked out your gallery and thought the Lysander build very impressive. I have a balsa TBM kit that I may try and super detail in the future…way, way in the future…lol
Where do you even find reference pictures to add detail like that? When I want to add detail, I scour for weeks looking for reference photos and the best I find is restored planes with parts missing, or line drawings with approximations. That is just unreal[:)]

Fred it took me months of researching the internet and books,I did one stage at a time…yes indeed a lot of scouring was needed[:(]
For those of us who will probably never get the chance to see the innerworkings of a REAL Spit, you did it, amazing job! [t$t] When you see all those wires and lines it makes me wonder how those crates stayed in the air taking a few 20mm rounds… of course, many didn’t I suppose.
