68 year old new to forum 1/72 military aircraft

As the topic says, I’m new to the forum. Build mainly 1/72 WWII aircraft. I have about 90 kits in my stash 30 being in 1/48. Been in the hobby off and on for 55 years, life gets in the way. Retired in 2016, so I have more time to dedicate to the hobby. Presently working on the Tamiya 1/72 Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Ia. Next on the bench is the Italeri 1/72 C130 E/H. I try and focus on RCAF subjects as I’m a Canadian.

Welcome aboard! I do mostly 1/48 aircraft but dabble in 1/72 and 1/144, 1/200 for some larger birds along with a few cars/bikes. Very interested to see your work on the C-130. I have the 1/72 Italeri C-130J kit in the stash and the Brengun kit to convert it to a KC-130J Harvest Hawk. Look forward to seeing your builds.

Welcome aboard Will. Looking forward to seeing that Spitfire build. Start a thread and let’s go man.

Welcome Timber! Will you be posting some photos of your collection?

At Oshkosh this year I had the distinct pleasure of seeing the RCAF “Vintage Wings of Canada” flight – the Spit Mk IX, the Hurricane Mk XII, and a Mustang – and of course the glorious Lancaster Mk X. All up close and personal, parked at Warbird Alley for inspection.

Pretty memorable moment when they fired up the Lanc’s Merlins one by one, covering the crowd in smoke and blowing folks’ hats off. :face_holding_back_tears:
