6 or 5 on the ah-6 j little bird

ok i am now working 2nd build for the attach helo gb. its the ah-6 j little bird, what i need to know is how many rotor blades are on this bird? the kit plans show 5 but thier are 6 of them in the kit spurs. and they dont give you any other attachments where you can build a 6 blade rotor[:D][:D] thanks rob

Cuyrrent AH/MH-6J aircraft have a 5-blade main rotor. There is a newer version currently being tested w/ 6 blade rotor. I think the 6th blade is in the Dragon kit because it was easier to mold two of the same sprue, 3 blades on each, than to make two separate sprues with different parts, to get 5 blades (even vs. odd #).

Yep, Gino’s got it right. The new MH-6Ms have six bladed rotors, making them EVEN QUIETER! They’re also stretched a bit. I agree, its easier to mold two sprues of the same parts and have one extra blade than to make a mold for two different sprues.

[#ditto][#ditto] all of the above.

thanks guys just wanted to make sure i got it right.[:D][:D]
